35.000 MOTORCYCLE FANS CELEBRATED 15 YEARS OF GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN

The BMW Motorrad Days were 2016 the hottest attraction for the rider scene from all over the world. 35.000 motorcycle enthusiasts arrived in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and celebrated the BMW Rider lifestyle with lots of fun and action. Stunt rider Mattie Griffin made the audience sweat with his rousing show. All GS Trophy fans had the chance to relive the spirit of Enduro at the GS Try-Out Trophy. In the boxer sprint the racing legends Karl Maier and Helmut Dähne and also Hardy Krüger Jr. and Ronald Zehrfeld put on a show race. Due to the weather the sprint had to be cut short.

Besides, this year many well-known persons could be seen around the foot of the Zugspitze: Amongst others, actor Hannes Jaenicke, wheelie on ice world record holder Robert Gull as well as cartoonist Riccardo Burchielli paid a visit to the festival. In addition a lot of former participants and marshals of the Int. GS Trophy as well as the winner team and the first international female team were on-site. Even after 15 years of Garmisch-Partenkirchen, the BMW Motorrad Days with its legendary celebrations in the party tent and in the US lodge and with great live bands in front of the motodrom and around the campfire have become an outstanding success.

The highlights of the 15th BMW Motorrad Days

The BMW Motorrad Days were the hottest attraction for the rider scene from all over the world. Over 40,000 motorcycle enthusiasts arrived in summery, hot Garmisch-Partenkirchen and celebrated the BMW Rider lifestyle there with lots of fun and action. Of course there was something there for each and every visitor: from stylish customer exhibitors, to motorcycle parades and panoramic rides in the surrounding area, to thrilling stunt shows. Guests were able to experience and discover the whole "BMW Motorrad" universe. In addition to the unbelievable stunts and tricks, in which the riders Chris Pfeiffer and Russ Swift seemed to defy gravity, this year the Boxer Classic Sprint finally took place on the straights once again. And for all endurance fans there was also the chance to put the Adventure series through its paces at the off-road GS beginner's cup.

LAST YEAR'S HIGHLIGHTS

Mountains, sun and motorcycles. In 2014, BMW Motorrad Days attracted around 40,000 visitors to Garmisch-Partenkirchen once again. There was something on the program for everyone, from group excursions and panoramic tours into the mountains to customizer booths and exhibitor tents. And it was action-packed as always: street bike freestyle riding champion Mattie Griffin mesmerised the crowd with his stunts, as did the Wall of Death riders who defied the laws of physics in the "Original Motodrom". Enduro enthusiasts had the chance to test their skills at the Enduro Park or at the GS Trophy Try-Out.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BMW MOTORRAD!

BMW Motorrad Days was another resounding success in 2013. And there was even more to reason to party last year: It was the 90th anniversary of BMW Motorrad. Over 40,000 visitors celebrated nine decades of Bavarian motorcycling craftsmanship and enjoyed a wide range of exciting events. These included a special 500-square-meter exhibition of historical BMW motorcycles. And the "Original Motodrom", the world's oldest wall of death where daring motorcycle acrobats defy the laws of physics. Then there was the world premiere of the BMD Classic Boxer Sprint. 32 BMW flat twins thrilled thousands of spectators as they battled it out in a knock-out competition over a distance of one furlong. There was also a Birthday Box so that everyone could send their own personal birthday wishes to BMW Motorrad.

RIDING TOGETHER, CELEBRATING TOGETHER.

The atmosphere in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in July 2012 was incredible as always: Over 30,000 motorcycle enthusiasts from every corner of the world gathered to celebrate with BMW Motorrad. The festival included exciting tours, test rides and activities galore, not to mention a breathtaking show by four-time stunt riding champion Chris Pfeiffer in in the main event arena. Motorcycle enthusiasts from Asia, Africa, America and all over Europe danced to live music from Gerry & Gary, Dreirad and Zündstoff until the break of dawn.

UNSTOPPABLE AS ALWAYS.

The dust has now settled in Garmisch-Partenkirchen after three days spent celebrating BMW motorcycles and the people who ride them. From 1 to 3 July, the Alpine town came alive with the sound of BMW engines. Street bike freestyle demonstrations by Chris Pfeiffer and BMW mountain bike stunts by Igor Obu; guided motorcycle tours through the Alps; a super-size motorcycle parade which all guests were invited to join; test rides; show races; and of course the legendary parties were just some of the unmissable attractions.

RECORD TURNOUT, GLORIOUS WEATHER UND 30 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF GS.

The weather turned out great for the tenth anniversary of BMW Motorrad Days. Turning out in the hot summer weather, over 35,000 riders and fans of the BMW Motorrad brand not only set a new attendance record, they also partied to their hearts' content for three days on end. The exciting program of events, this time largely dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the BMW GS, had a number of surprises in store.
