The StreetGuard suit was developed by BMW Motorrad according to C.A.R.E. (Concept of Advanced Rider Equipment). This means it guarantees the very highest performance in terms of safety, comfort, durability and innovation. Only BMW Motorrad rider equipment is C.A.R.E.-certified, meeting the highest safety standards and incorporating state-of-the-art technology. Thanks to C.A.R.E. standards developed by BMW Motorrad itself, the StreetGuard suit goes well beyond statutory norms.
The trim material used in StreetGuard guarantees the outstanding abrasion resistance at the protection points. This is tested under highly realistic conditions in the BMW fall simulator: here the fall and subsequent skidding movement of a person weighing 75 kg is simulated on concrete tarmac at a speed of up to 100 km/h. As a manufacturer of rider equipment, BMW Motorrad has its own laboratory for putting development procedures, materials and the finished products to the acid test. For example, samples of the StreetGuard suit are clamped into place and exposed to xenon light. The light and heat applied in this way enables the fabric to be tested for light fastness. The laboratory has facilities for shaking, dragging and wrenching virtually everything. This is the only way to ensure you can rely on a level of quality which is generally impossible to find elsewhere.
See the premiere of StreetGuard at this year's EICMA from November 7th to 10th in Milan.
