You’ll never know just what you and your motorcycle are capable of until you ride it on a track. For 2014, you can get the answer to both these questions by joining one of BMW Motorrad’s official Track Day events organised by EYBIS, at a choice of fantastic circuits across Europe. Designed to allow you to ‘just ride’, they also come with lots of extras to make the experience an unforgettable one…
Let’s face it, riding on the road can be great fun, but with uneven surfaces, two-way traffic and speed controls, your focus is more on the surroundings than sheer riding pleasure. But get your bike on a track and discover the addictive and thrilling sensation that comes from exploring the full potential of a powerful motorcycle within the controlled environment of a race circuit. Take it from us, it’s the most fun you can have with your clothes on!
Listen to the intoxicating sound of your bike’s engine as you climb through the gears at maximum revs; discover just how much ground clearance your bike has; how much grip there is on the edge of those fat tyres; and learn just how late – and how hard – you can brake in complete confidence and safety. All this – and much more besides – can be experienced on a BMW Motorrad Track Day in 2014.
This year, there are ten fantastic circuits in seven countries to choose from – including legendary tracks such as Assen, Le Mans, Misano, Spa-Francorchamps, Portimao and Hockenheimring – where you can just ride in a group of similar ability level, and even benefit from specialist coaching from multi-lingual instructors.
It doesn’t matter what you ride or if you’ve had previous track experience: it’s all about enjoying the performance of your motorcycle and becoming a faster, safer and more competent rider in the process. Organised by BMW Motorrad official partner EYBIS (Enjoy Your Bike In Safety), these events offer much more than a standard track day, according to director Frank Slabbynck.
“This year we’ve a fantastic programme to offer our customers, on some of the best tracks right across Europe. Most of the events will be attended by double Superbike World Champion and BMW Motorrad ambassador Troy Corser, who will be offering his coaching services on site. Furthermore, we are also offering the possibility for participants to test a wide range of BMW bikes on track, including the S 1000 RR, HP4, R 1200 GS, the new S 1000 R and even the new R nineT. We’re also offering transponders for lap timekeeping, a tyre and technical facility and a photography service, so guests can remember their special day for a long time.”
Importantly, these days aren’t restricted solely to BMW riders, but are open to all motorcyclists, so groups of friends riding all brands of bikes are encouraged to come along and see what the world of BMW Motorrad has to offer.
In total, there will be 23 track days on ten circuits in seven countries in 2014, welcoming motorcyclists of all nationalities and all skill levels, with or without circuit experience. With training offered on four different levels and the possibility for all participants to test the latest BMW bikes on track, it’s too good an opportunity to miss. Give yourself and your bike the best present imaginable this year and discover your true potential on a BMW Motorrad Track Day.
