Pure performance - with the new HP4

HP - short for High Performance - has always been BMW Motorrad's symbol of power, exclusivity and reduction to the essentials. The HP models are made of the very best materials, moulded into top-class design.

The new HP4 is the first interpretation of this philosophy in the form of a 4-cylinder model. The best BMW Motorrad engineers and designers have pursued their vision without compromise and the result is impressive: the new HP4 offers extreme lightness, top performance and first-class handling.

It is based on the RR - but its motor racing genes have turned it into a purebred factory motorcycle with high aspirations: it sets out to be the best motorcycle in the supersports segment, creating the same kind of stir as the RR before it.

Whether race track or country road, the new HP4 meets the very highest demands. The lightest 4-cylinder engine (incl. ABS) in the segment offers an output of 142 kW (193 bhp) and a maximum torque of 112 Nm. The weight reduction provided by the all-titanium exhaust system is 4.5 kg; and the new silencer also ensures a higher level of torque in the medium range - for greater power in precisely those situations where it matters. Another 2.4 kg have been saved on the wheels - with the use of aluminium forged wheels for much more agile handling.

The technology of the new HP4 is more than a nose ahead of its time. This is especially reflected in a world premiere: the dynamic suspension system DDC (DynamicDampingControl), an intelligent set-up function which adapts perfectly to any situation.

For riders not content with race track performance alone, the HP4 has the Competition Package option to offer. This exclusive version of the HP4 features additional HP parts: HP brake lever, HP clutch lever, HP rider footrest system, closed HP Carbon engine spoiler, HP Carbon plate holder and HP Carbon fuel tank trim. With its forged wheels finished in blue and the sponsor sticker kit, it is an eye-catcher even from a distance.

Because of its high-quality construction and involved manufacturing process, only a few of the HP4 and HP4 Competition can be made during the period of production up to 2014. Proof of this exclusivity is provided by the numbered fork bridge engraving complete with HP logo.

The new HP4. Pure performance.
