Shinichi Yamashita:

How long have you been riding a motorcycle and how did you develop your passion for off-road riding?
I have been riding motorcycles for 10 years.

What do you associate with the BMW Motorrad GS?
My wife is the saleswoman of BMW Motorrad in Japan. I found the F 800 GS one morning - it was a present for me from her.

What was your most extreme or unusual enduro experience to date?
It is JNCC (Japan National Cross Country Race). That race was the virgin race event for me. My
arms pumped in an instant. My body hit many rocks and trees and the earth. I don’t want to remember it too much.

What are your goals for the GS Trophy 2012?
I will do my best. I want to make a lot of friends. It lives and returns.

The GS Trophy is a unique event. What do you find most fascinating about it?
GS trophy is not a race. But I think it has the challenge of a race. It is a very pleasant experience.

What other goals do you wish to achieve in the long term with your GS?
I hope my motorcycle life continues until the end of my life.

I’m looking forward to seeing you and all the other trophy teams!

How long have you been riding a motorcycle and how did you develop your passion for off-road riding?
A holiday – a touring or enduro race – or training.

What do you associate with the BMW Motorrad GS?
The best motorcycle over rough terrain.

What was your most extreme or unusual enduro experience to date?
JNCC

What are your goals for the GS Trophy 2012?
Lifetime recollections .

The GS Trophy is a unique event. What do you find most fascinating about it?
It takes GS riders out into the world.

What other goals do you wish to achieve in the long term with your GS?
Even I become a grandfather I would like to go on riding with GS friends.

Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about?
I appreciate BMW Motorrad giving us this opportunity. The GS Trophy 2012 will introduce us to the culture and landscape of a foreign country as well as generating team spirit.

Haruaki Arai:

How long have you been riding a motorcycle and how did you develop your passion for off-road riding?
I started riding 20 years ago on a Harley, I have been riding for years on a BMW R 1150 GS, R 1200 GS and G 650 X. My passion came from meeting a lot of GS riders at a meeting of BMW. GS is one of the main reasons for my passion.

What do you associate with the BMW Motorrad GS?
GS has brought me a lot of friends.

What was your most extreme or unusual enduro experience to date?
2011 Rally Mongolia ,2012 Tuareg Rally.

What are your goals for the GS Trophy 2012?
To make a lot of GS friends around the world.  

The GS Trophy is a unique event. What do you find most fascinating about it?
I am thinking about how I can contribute in a team.

What other goals do you wish to achieve in the long term with your GS?
It is to travel in South America on the GS.
