Team United Kingdom

Nick George:

How long have you been riding a motorcycle and how did you develop your passion for off-road riding?
I started riding trials motorbikes when I was 12 years old. I competed most weekends until I went away to university. I then didn't ride until my early 30s , but have ridden off-road extensively since.

What do you associate with the BMW Motorrad GS?
The BMW GS is a high quality product with the ability to go anywhere. Like a two-wheeled Land Rover, it is equally at home on the High Street as traversing a high mountain pass.

What was your most extreme or unusual enduro experience to date?
I have competed in the Scottish Six Days Trial on three occasions - this stretched me to (and beyond) my limits. The last time it rained all day, every day!

What are your goals for the GS Trophy 2012?
I am looking forward to meeting new people and visiting places on a continent that I will be experiencing for the first time.

The GS Trophy is a unique event. What do you find most fascinating about it?
I am curious to see what challenges we are set, and also where we will be riding.

What other goals do you wish to achieve in the long term with your GS?
I would like to make some trips to parts of Europe that I haven't visited before. I would also quite like to try some Long Distance Trials. Having spent a couple of days on the F 800 GS, I am sure that it would be suitable.

Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about?
Many people consider me crazy - I ride as the passenger in a sidecar trials outfit (with Alistair Allan, GB team member in GS Trophy 2010).

Cameron Thompson:

What do you associate with the BMW Motorrad GS?
The use of big trail bikes on a competitive skilled level.

What else would you like to tell us?
I would like to thank you for providing me with the opportunity of riding for the world of BMW.

Steve Rose:

How long have you been riding a motorcycle and how did you develop your passion for off-road riding?
I started riding motorcycles as a young man. After a break of 25 years I returned and have ridden off-road for 3 years.

What do you associate with the BMW Motorrad GS?
The ability to cover any terrain, quickly and with great reliability.

What was your most extreme or unusual enduro experience to date?
After attending the BMW off-road endure school in August this year I entered the Dawn to Dusk 10- hour big bike endure and was placed first.

What are your goals for the GS Trophy 2012?
To work hard as a team to repeat the success of the UK team two years ago and have a great time!

The GS Trophy is a unique event. What do you find most fascinating about it?
The chance to ride with other GS owners from all around the world and compete in stunning South America.

What other goals do you wish to achieve in the long term with your GS?
I work as a mountain guide and would like to see if it is possible to get a GS to the North Pole or across Greenland

Is there anything else you'd like to tell us about?
Even starting late (49) as I have done, I hope the GS Trophy will take my riding to the next level.
