BMW Motorrad’s plant in Berlin celebrated a significant milestone on 5 March, as the four millionth bike – an R 1300 GS Adventure – rolled off the production line. This moving achievement is the result of precision, dedication and decades of passion. Hitting the four million mark is a proud moment that represents countless stories, and is a tribute to the skill and innovative prowess that goes into every single bike.

More than a number
“For me, reaching four million motorbikes represents four million stories of togetherness, passion, innovation and Berlin spirit”, explains Danijela Rakic, a workers’ representative at the plant in Berlin. Every bike is the result of decades of expertise and the work of countless hands. At the plant in Berlin, specialised teams take care of every detail, from the frame assembly to the final test run. It was this process that created the R 1300 GS Adventure, which was precisely manufactured, tested and perfected at the BMW Motorrad plant in Berlin.
A factory that sets standards
The production of the four millionth BMW motorbike
The BMW Motorrad plant in Berlin has stood for quality, innovation and pure passion since 1969. What began with around 400 employees and 30 motorbikes produced every day is now one of the most modern motorbike production facilities in the world, combining precision and progress.
Employing over 2,600 people, it produces up to 900 bikes every day. At peak times, one motorbike rolls off the production line every 60 seconds. This is all made possible thanks to continuous investments in digitalisation, automated production lines, advanced technology and a dedicated team.
