Tribute to a legend
Hardly any other event pushes riders and machines to their limits quite like the legendary Isle of Man TT (Tourist Trophy). On the Mountain Course, limits are redefined – lap after lap. It is here that BMW Motorrad has secured victories, broken records and made history. The M RR Limited Edition Isle of Man TT pays tribute to all these achievements, to the superbike, and to the riders who master the course with courage, precision and exceptional prowess. In 2026, Peter Hickman hopes to continue making history on the legendary circuit by riding the M 1000 RR, on which he has held the record since 2023.

A place steeped in over 100 years of history
Since 1907, the Isle of Man TT has been the stage for engineering excellence and testing riders to their limits. The Mountain Course has been its centrepiece since 1911: no ordinary racetrack, but a 60.72 km public road circuit where speeds exceed 300 km/h. This is exactly what makes the Tourist Trophy the most demanding road race in the world to this day. BMW Motorrad has been part of this history since the 1930s. Victories, podium finishes and technical milestones have firmly established the brand on the island. A new era with a clear mission
A new era with a clear mission
The recent successes in particular mark the start of a new era: Peter Hickman holds the fastest lap in the history of the Isle of Man TT on the M 1000 RR. A milestone set in 2023 – and still the benchmark today. Davey Todd has also raced his way to the very top on the Mountain Course with strong performances and his victory in 2025. Together they form 8TEN Racing, a team founded by both riders in 2025 that has evolved at lightning speed to become today's official BMW Motorrad Road Racing Team. Following a turbulent start to the 2025 season, marked by Peter Hickman’s injury-enforced absence, there were high hopes that they would finally be able to line up together this year. However, Davey Todd will have to sit out the 2026 season following his serious crash at the Daytona 200 and the resulting injuries. It is a major blow for him, the team and his fans.
The top two in the Tourist Trophy
Peter Hickman is the benchmark in modern road racing. Back in 2023, he wrote history: Clocking a time of 16:36.115 he rode the fastest lap in history on the Mountain Course with the BMW M 1000 RR, averaging over 219.45 km/h. Precision, consistency and absolute control have made him the record holder on a track that tolerates no mistakes. Hickman's success is no accident. On the M 1000 RR, he triumphed in Superbike, Superstock and Senior races, setting multiple new lap records along the way. The combination of rider, team and machine has set a new benchmark for the TT – measurable in times, visible on the track and palpable across the entire island.
His British teammate and road-racing pro, Davey Todd, has been an established force at the Isle of Man TT for years. In 2024, he made his breakthrough on the BMW M 1000 RR, winning the Senior TT and the Superstock TT. In 2025, he followed that up by winning the Superbike TT, as well as securing further podium finishes in the Superstock races. Competing exclusively in the 1000‑cc classes, Todd is known for his consistently fast pace and tangible success on the M 1000 RR.
Being able to do something like this for us is living.
