If we want to know what our mobility will look like in the future, we need to ask the right questions today. “The Future Shack” future project from BMW Motorrad is trying to find answers. It offers a platform for new perspectives and ideas related to a contemporary lifestyle. In order to participate in shaping the future of individual mobility, we must look far beyond our horizons with the help of pioneers from a wide range of fields that are relevant to modern life. These pioneers are people who reject arbitrary traditions, and instead wish to drive development forward. Together, we are scrutinising the status quo.

We can only create truly novel concepts if we give our ideas freedom to grow. We have asked a wide range of people to think freely and expand their horizons. The creative output of “The Future Shack” has been summarised in the form of short episodes; videos that each take a closer look at specific questions. Get to know the different protagonists, who each approach the subject from their own unique perspective.
To get fresh input, we have to leave our own “bubble”. That’s why we also like to hear from people who don’t typically deal with mobility concepts in their day-to-day lives. We strive to include the younger generation in particular. This includes content creators, for example, who introduce a refreshing perspective on the topic with their view from the outside of the field.
In order to get as diverse a view of the future as possible, we have asked for input from many other clever and creative heads, such as journalists or game designers, for example. Of course, we also involve our own product designers and other specialists from various trades in the process, as well.
Everything is in good flow, and the same applies to the protagonists of the episodes. After all, what could be more inspirational than moving through bustling major cities like Berlin, or on being out on the streets in the visionary city of Singapore? Vibrant places foster new ideas, and you can experience urban mobility for yourself there.
